MFWD DN 5400 Expansion Joints to US General Electric & Iberdrola Consortium # SONELGAZ Algeria
MACOGA has just delivered 2 units Universal MFWD DN 5400 Turbine Connection Expansion Joints to the US General Electric and Spanish Iberdrola consortium for the Koudiet Edraouch Power Plant in Algeria.
Sonelgaz is constructing this 1200 MW gas-fired power plant as a part of Algerias scheme to renovate and expand its power infrastructure.
Project is under execution and completion is expected in January 2012.

Expansion Joints for Ammonium Nitrate Plant in Indonesia
MACOGA has been awarded with an order for the delivery of High Tech Expansion Joints for the worlds biggest supplier of commercial explosives. Ammonium nitrate is a key ingredient in the manufacture of explosives.
Formal construction was expected to commence in April 2009 and the plant should be in production in early 2011.
The delivery comprises a set of Pressure Balanced, Gimbal, Double Gimbal, Hinged and Lateral Expansion Joints in sizes from 300 mm up to 1700 mm.

High Pressure Clamshell MRR DN 1000
A high pressure Reinforced Clamshell Expansion Joint MRR Type DN 1000 has just been delivered to one of the world’s largest producers of polymers and high-performance plastics.
The Expansion Joint that has been successfully hydro-tested up to 54 barg will be assembled at the plant by our On-Site staff.

High Tech Expansion Joints built for BP
Six 44” High Tech MACOGA Gimbal Expansion Joints have been successfully delivered to BP. The design conditions of the expansion joints were very severe: 20 barg and +527 °C and they were satisfactorily tested in shop at 42.76 barg.
The bellows have been manufactured in ALLOY C276 and all the other parts in Stainless Steel 304H grade.
The Gimbal systems were checked and analyzed using COSMOS FEA.

Expansion Joints for O2 Service
MACOGA has been audited and approved by the world leading company in atmospheric gases for supplying Expansion Joints for Oxygen-enriched environments.
Oxygen is not flammable in itself but supports combustion. Oxygen can react with most materials. Care must be taken in the ion of equipment and materials, which need to be oxygen compatible and free from contaminants. The main contaminants to be avoided and/or eliminated are hydrocarbon oils and greases, which are easily combustible and particulate matter, which can easy ignite or cause ignition.
Specific and meticulous methods and apparatus for cleaning, inspecting, and packaging the Expansion Joints intended for service in O2 have been used and a set of high performance Expansion Joints have been successfully delivered.

Expansion Joints for UOP / Petrobras Refineries
High-Tech Expansion Joints have been manufactured by MACOGA and delivered to the REPLAN (Paulínia Refinery) and RPBC (Pres. Bernardes Refinery) in Brasil.
The Expansion Joints are incorporated to a UOP CCR Platforming Process. CCR Platforming is the preferred process for reforming of naphtha to produce aromatics for petrochemical complexes, high octane gasoline and hydrogen. In the CCR Platforming unit, aged catalyst in the reactors is continuously replaced with catalyst that has been freshly regenerated in an external regenerator (CCR regenerator) to maintain fresh catalyst performance.

On-site Assembly and Erection works in Greece
MACOGA site staff has just completed the site assembly and erection of 2 Expansion Joints MUX Type DN 5500 at Thisvi Power Generation Plant a 400 MW CCPP, duel-fuel combined cycle gas fired power plant in the Municipality of Thisvi - Viotia, Greece.
Due to the huge size of these units and the narrow roads in Greece, transport in one piece would be unfeasible so the Expansion Joints have been supplied in parts and assembled at site by MACOGA qualified welders.
