Working on broadly similar principles to district heating, district cooling delivers chilled water to buildings like offices and factories needing cooling.
It is a modern, efficient way to air condition a network of residential & industrial buildings in cities or campuses, factories, etc. Central cooling plants house large, highly efficient, industrial-grade equipment that produces chilled water for supply to customer buildings through an insulated underground piping network. Cold supply water enters the building and flows through a heat exchanger, absorbing heat from the building space before recirculating back to the central plant through a closed loop return line.
This system saves buildings from having their own individual chillers, air conditioners, boilers, and furnaces. Therefore, district cooling systems allow for significant savings from capital and operating costs associated with the equipment abovementioned. Furthermore, district cooling systems provide more reliability, environmental sustainability, and flexibility.
District cooling systems require the installation of Expansion Joints in the pipes and associated equipment to absorb the expansion and contraction of the lines due to thermal changes and vibrations generated by related equipment like pumps, compressors, etc.
MACOGA provides a wide range of Metal and Rubber for District Cooling Systems worldwide.
