Fabric Expansion Joints for Spanish Navy warship
We are proud to announce that MACOGA has designed, manufactured, and supplied high-temperature fabric expansion joints for the gas turbine exhaust system of the Spanish Navy’s amphibious assault ship Juan Carlos I (L-61).
The L-61 is a Strategic Projection Ship (LHD) designed and built by Navantia for the Spanish Navy. It is the largest warship ever constructed for Spain, combining the capabilities of an aircraft carrier, an amphibious assault vessel, and a logistic support platform.
Our expansion joints are installed at the turbine exhaust outlet, specifically engineered for temperatures exceeding 500 °C. Each unit is built with stainless-steel 316L flanges and a multi-layer technical fabric assembly designed to withstand the severe thermal and mechanical conditions typical of marine propulsion systems.
This project reinforces MACOGA’s position as a leading European manufacturer of custom-engineered expansion joints for demanding naval and industrial applications.
