One of these units incorporates a floating ring, an advanced design and construction system. The improved floating ring design structure reduces stresses and significantly lowers costs, ensuring optimal performance and durability.
The floating ring is engineered to absorb the pressure thrust load as well as any external loads. This design accommodates the differing thermal expansions between the line pipe, which may operate at the full media temperature, and the floating ring.
This allows, in many instances, the use of carbon steel for the floating ring, even at very high temperatures. Carbon steel remains a viable option due to the reduced operating temperature of the floating ring. Notably, the floating ring is not directly welded to the line pipe, further enhancing its durability and performance.
