High-Performance FCC Expansion Joints delivered to a major European Refinery
We have successfully manufactured and supplied several high-performance expansion joints for the FCC unit of a major refinery in Europe.
The supplied units include expansion joints, with sizes DN 1400 (≈ 55”) and 34”, specifically designed for FCC applications.
From a technical standpoint, the equipment has been engineered to withstand demanding operating conditions:
- Design temperature: up to 579°C (with additional units designed for 538°C)
- Design pressure: up to 7.1 kg/cm², Test pressure: up to 13.0 kg/cm²
- Materials: high-performance alloys such as SB443 N06625 Gr.1 for bellows, ensuring excellent resistance to high temperature and corrosion.
- Refractory lining: up to 140 mm internal refractory, specially designed for FCC service.
- Design: 2 ply testable bellows with reinforcing/equalizing rings and external covers for maximum reliability.
These expansion joints have been specifically designed to handle hot FCC flue gases, combining high-temperature resistance, mechanical flexibility, and long-term durability under cyclic operation.
