High-Pressure ASME U Stamped MRR Expansion Joints for Geothermal Project in New Zealand
MACOGA has successfully designed and manufactured a series of MRR type expansion joints for a geothermal power plant in New Zealand, reinforcing its position as a trusted partner for demanding energy applications.
The scope includes three large units in DN 2000, DN 2100 and DN 2250, specifically engineered to operate under high-pressure conditions of up to 33 bar, combined with elevated temperatures and continuous thermal cycling typical of geothermal environments.
Manufactured with Alloy 625 (SB-443 UNS N06625) bellows and reinforced with SA 516 Gr.70 rings, these units ensure excellent resistance to corrosion, pressure loads and fatigue.
All expansion joints have been fully inspected and certified under ASME Section VIII Division 1 with U-Stamp, guaranteeing the highest quality standards and reliability in operation.
This project highlights MACOGA’s capability to deliver robust, tailor-made solutions for high-pressure geothermal applications worldwide.
