We have completed the detailed engineering, manufacturing and testing of a large number of Full Face Rubber Flanged Expansion Joints for a refinery complex in Africa.

The contract included In-Line Pressure Balanced units MPB-I Series, Single Untied MAC-F and MAC-F2 and Single Tied MAC-FT Expansion Joints, all with bellows in EPDM HT material.

EPDM HT is a special EPDM rubber compound suitable for high temperature up to 140 °C applications without hardening. Weather-resistant, good gas tightness, resistant to attack by oxygen, U.V., ozone and extreme weather environments.

The complex is expected to be the Africa’s biggest oil refinery and the world’s biggest single-train facility, upon completion in 2020.

The refinery will process a variety of light and medium grades of crude to produce Euro-V quality clean fuels including gasoline and diesel as well as jet fuel and polypropylene.

The integrated refinery and petrochemical project is expected to generate 9,500 direct and 25,000 indirect jobs.
