Large Project for the Kuo Kuang 2 Power Plant in Taiwan

On this occasion we are supplying 21 Expansion Joints for the Kuo Kuang 2 Combined Cycle Power Plant in Taiwan.

With a planned electrical capacity of 1,200 MW, the plant will help meet the growing electricity demand of Taiwan’s industrial and technology sectors. 

The scope includes:

• 1 tied Dog Bone expansion joint, DN 8000, with an overall length of 2,000 mm.
• 2 Universal Unrestrained Expansion Joints, DN 5000, with an overall length of 1,700 mm.
• 9 Lateral Expansion Joints, in diameters DN 2000, DN 2700 and DN 3000, with overall lengths of up to 5,000 mm.
• 9 Hinged Expansion Joints, in diameters DN 2000, DN 2700 and DN 3000.

The DN 8000 tied Dog Bone unit and the 2 Universal Unrestrained Expansion Joints, DN 5000 are among the key components of the supply, demonstrating MACOGA’s capability to manufacture expansion joints for exceptionally large duct connections.

MACOGA’s scope covers material procurement, fabrication, testing, painting and preparation for transport, including packing.

This project further strengthens MACOGA’s experience in supplying large expansion joints for power generation facilities worldwide, combining different designs within a single project to meet demanding installation and operating requirements.
