MACOGA has successfully completed the production of 9 units MWD DN3300 And 6 units MWL DN2300 and 1800 Expansion Joints for the Baku Waste to Energy Project in Azerbaijan. The Baku Waste to Energy Project is intended to reduce the need for future landfill and to make use of the energy released by the thermal treatment process to generate electricity and heat. The new development will utilise state of the art technology to comply with strict operational and environmental requirements and it is anticipated that the waste to energy facility will have the nominal capacity to thermally treat approximately 500,000 tonnes of waste and also generate 231 MW/yr of electricity per year. The plant will also have the capability to treat up to 10,000 tonnes per year of clinical waste. The residue from the process will be an inert clinker which could be used as a construction material.
