The best On-Site Service: FCC Clamshell and Emergency Repair at a UK Refinery
When critical equipment fails, no matter whether it’s day or night, on a weekend or during the week, it must be fixed.
Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) is an essential process at today’s refineries and the Expansion Joints installed in the FCC are key elements for its operation. In the event of a Expansion Joint breakdown or failure, the refinery cannot afford to wait to fix the problem.
This time we manufactured two Regenerated Cat Standpipe Clamshell bellows in a record time. On the 9th of April at 14:00 hours the customer requested us to start manufacturing the DN1150 mm clamshells in Alloy 625 and the next day, the 10th of April the parts were on their way to the refinery in the UK.
Despite the difficulties of travelling in a pandemic scenario, our on-site team consisting of two engineers and 4 technicians travelled to the refinery to proceed with the installation of the parts.
Our team worked 2 x 12 hour shifts so that the installation was successfully completed in a record time.
