High Pressure Expansion Joint tested at 409 barg (5932 psi) for Biomass Power Plant in Scandinavia

We design and manufacture Expansion Joints for the most demanding tasks.

This time we successfully designed, manufactured, tested and delivered a very High-pressure Expansion Joint for a Biomass Power Plant in Scandinavia.

The new power plant is scheduled to begin operations in 2019. The plant will use 100% clean, wood-based biomass, and will replace an old, coal-fired unit. The reduction in CO2 emissions will be 1.2 million tonnes per year.

The new plant will produce district heating and electricity for the greater city area.

The DN 200 (8”) diameter Universal Tied Reinforced Expansion Joint has been designed for 250 barg (3625 PSI) and successfully tested at 409 barg (5932 PSI).

The multiply bellows in Duplex EN 1.4462, ASTM UNS S32205 incorporate reinforced rings in 16Mo3 material.

We are specialized in high-tech customized Expansion Joints for the toughest applications.

Main mechanical design, parameters and features are:
