High Pressure Expansion Joints for Geothermal Power Projects

A large number of ASME U Stamped MRR Series High Pressure Expansion Joints have been successfully designed, manufactured and tested for the world leading supplier of Geothermal Technologies.

The Expansion Joints are intended for use in ASME Heat Exchangers. The purpose of the Expansion Joints is to compensate on the relative thermal expansions between the tube-side and the shell-side of Heat Exchangers. The Expansion Joints will be used as part of the shell of fixed tubesheet Heat Exchangers.

The units, sizing from 1200 mm to 2400 diameter have been tested up to 43.5 bar (4.35 MPa).

The shell & ends material: SA-516 Gr. 70, Normalized

The Bellows material: Alloy 625 (SB-443 UNS N06625)

MACOGA MRR Series incorporates reinforcement or equalizing rings located around the outside of the convolution thus preventing the bellows being forced out of shape due to the high pressures. Equalizing and Reinforcing Rings are devices used on some expansion joints fitting snugly in the roots of the convolutions. The primary purpose of these devices is to reinforce the bellows against internal pressure and equalize the movement among all the corrugations.
