A large size Elbow Pressure Balanced MPB-E DN3200 and two Lateral Tied Expansion Joints DN2400 have been successfully manufactured by MACOGA for a high-efficiency biomass plant in Cramlington, Northumberland, UK.

The plant will supply electricity and heat to Aesica Pharmaceuticals and MSD, two of the largest employers in the North East's highly successful specialist pharmaceutical cluster. It will also supply low carbon electricity to the National Grid.

The Cramlington project will be yet another plant to add to the UK’s portfolio of green and energy efficient biomass power plants.

The turnkey power plant, with an output of 27.8 MW, is expected to be up and running by the end of 2017. The finished facility will generate 223 GWh of renewable electricity annually – enough to power 52,000 homes.
