MACOGA supplies High-Pressure Expansion Joints for PETROBRAS FPSO Carioca MV30
Two units M-Lens U Stamped and 1 unit MWA Single Unrestrained High-Pressure Expansion Joints have been successfully designed, manufactured and tested for the PETROBRAS floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit Carioca MV30.
The M-Lens units complying with ASME VIII Div.1, App. 26 and App. 5 Edition 2017 have been manufactured in A/SA 516Gr70 N, PWHT, U Stamped and designed for 35 Barg (507,5 PSIg) and hydrostatically test at 45,5 Barg (659,75 PSIg).
The MWA Single Un-Restrained unit has been manufactured in DUPLEX STAINLESS STEEL
UNS S31803 – UNS S32205, UStamped, designed for an internal pressure of 35 Barg (507,5 PSIg) and an external pressure of 35 BARg (507,5 PSIg). They have been hydrostatically tested at 48,50 BARg (703,43 PSIg)
Japanese floating production specialist MODEC, Inc. is responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, mobilisation, installation, and operation of the FPSO, including topsides processing equipment as well as hull and marine systems.
The FPSO will be deployed at the Mero field in the giant “pre-salt” region of the Santos Basin some 180 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at a water depth of approximately 2,100 m.
The FPSO will be capable of processing 180,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 12 million m3 of gas per day, 225,000 barrels of water injection per day, and will have storage capacity of 1,400,000 barrels of crude oil. The first oil production by the FPSO is planned for 2021 and the vessel would be chartered out for 22 years.
