High Pressure Clamshell emergency installation in a Heat Exchanger for major European Refinery

Clamshell Expansion Joints are the optimal solution for repairing damaged bellows installed in heat exchangers, as they avoid the need to dismantle all the internal tubes. On this occasion, our customer, a major European refinery, sent us an exchanger in order to replace the damaged bellows. 

The MACOGA team responded efficiently to the challenge, manufacturing a customized clamshell. In a record time of only two days, we were able to replace the damaged bellows with a new one, ensuring the optimal performance of the exchanger. This solution not only guaranteed the functionality of the equipment, but also avoided the considerable labour and time that would have been involved in the complete dismantling of the exchanger.
